Athens E. Pellegrino grew up in Ocean City, New Jersey. She attended St. Joseph's University and obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration degree. Athens met her husband Christopher while attending the university and married in 2009. After, she studied at Troy University and received a Master of Public Administration degree. Athens serves a Budget Analyst and military spouse in the United States Air Force. She has a love for traveling, cooking, dogs and fitness. Athens and Christopher have a son, Atticus (age 3), and two daughters, Callista (age 2) and Ella (3 months). The family has experienced 8 Permanent Change of Station (PCS) assignments. Athens is intrigued by the strength and resiliency of military families which let to her creation of the Military Child Chronicles series. The first book is Mission: My First PCS followed by Mission: Mistletoe. She was most recently recognized as the Armed Forces Insurance MacDill Air Force Base Military Spouse of the Year 2022. Athens and her family recently relocated to Okinawa, Japan.
MEET THE ILLUSTRATOR

Cody Taylor is the owner of The Iron LAB Design Studio, which focuses on logo design and branding strategies for startups and small businesses. He's a graphic designer and illustrator, as well as a self-proclaimed genius. As a young artist, his works were featured exclusively on his parent's refrigerator; they ranged from napkin doodles to Bob Ross-inspired watercolor paintings. Cody studied photography in college part-time and has been in the graphic arts and design business in one aspect or another since 1998. He currently lives in Grand Junction, Colorado, and is blessed with a beautiful family. His wife Cayla and their amazing daughter Millie report that he is in fact not a genius... or a comedian.
